The Edinburgh immersion course has been taking place for more than 12 years. It supports intercultural and methodical awareness as well as language skills. The language of the course is English. For me as a language teacher it is usefull for both - improving my language knowledge and the regional one. Getting methodical ideas concerning language teaching in modern times is really imfortant to me. For me being head of the language team at our school as well as being responsible for the practical experiences students of the university gain at schools I can use my new knowlegde directly. The programme itself offers the chance to teach more lively and emotionally. This might be an oppurtunity to support new contacts . And maybe one day there will be a schoolpartnership which could impress my pupils so they want to keep in touch with pupils they got to know that way. I hope I can support a modern way of teaching which is based on experiences, events and face-to-face conversation with partners from other European countries.Although the second course is a primary one please consider there are different definitions for PRIMARY in Germany. Whereas Berlin-Brandenburg use this term and the structures for their 1-6th-formers, we in Mecklenburg-Pommerania use it for the pupils from form 1 to 4 only. For me teaching bilingual is quiet new. I've finished my studies at university recently (although I'm an experienced teacher) and I want to start teaching this way which will be the first time at our school. I am a Drama teacher as well, but teaching this subject in the foreign language is something we've never done before. From my point of view the ISP-Course seems to be the right one for me to achieve a good basis. Methodology and creativity are the focussed contents of this course. The most important part seem the practical skills and materials which I plan to use for "my" pupils too. It will be a good opportunity to exchange ideas with more experienced colleagues.
