Since 2000 the Willy-Brandt-College has had an intensive school partnership with a vocational college in Kajaani in Finland for Comenius projects. Furthermore our educational catering trade has had contacts with catering firms in Paris for many years. Hence there have already been lots of exchanges of students and apprentices in both countries. However, the participating teachers are only a few in comparison to the complete educational staff. For that reason we applied for the one-week secondary language course for teachers. The course is not only of utmost interest and importance to our English teaching colleagues but also for the Willy-Brandt-College and its international activities. The attending teachers are now able to win and to inspire others to share experience and ideas with colleagues from other European countries as well as to serve as role models for students and apprentices to develop a multicultural awareness and understanding.With this project we could expand the number of connected colleages and intensify our international project work in close collaboration with further countries as well as to encourage colleagues of all fields to chip in.
