Van Maerlantlyceum is an Elos school and a certified excellent school. Internationalisation is one of our focus areas. Van Maerlantlyceum is located in the heart of Eindhoven, in the middle of the Brainport region. Just like the region, the school is strongly internationally oriented. We prepare our students for tomorrow’s society. This is an international society. For this reason our students not only have to master their languages. It is essential that they also have knowledge and understanding of other clultures. They must also be able to compete with employees on a global basis. Their education must therefore be "state of the art". In order to achieve this, it is essential that our teachers have knowlegde of this international world. Educating teachers in an international context is not only important for language development but also necessary to keep up to date internationally and to develop and maintain contacts and networks. If we expect our students to learn across borders, we ourselves must set a good example. For this reason 4 colleagues who are closely connected to internationalisation will educate themselves in an international context. They will participate in the training provided by traveledventures. The trainings in which they will participate: - Mathematic Ipad Teacher Training - CLIL & Language Teacher Training French - CLIL & Language Teacher Training German These trainings have an impact on the quality of education and fortify the internationalisation of the school. In addition we expect that these teachers be an inspiration for colleagues and students so that our school’s international ambitions can be realised.
