BenchFor - Improvement of the quality of training organisations, through national and international benchmarking strategies

The aim of BenchFor project is to address a need, identified by training providers, for tools and procedures to help them improve quality and competitiveness. The concept of benchmarking will be used as a basis from which a method will be developed to help vocational training providers in undergoing comparative evaluation and qualitative measurement of their activities, their image and their place in the market. The model envisaged will facilitate interactive co-operation and the comparison of training standards in different areas of training. The anticipated outcome of this project is a benchmarking methodology adapted to suit continuous vocational training organisations. During its development, two computer-based tools and a website will be created, an international dissemination seminar and a series of support documents will be produced. The methodology, itself, will be piloted by six national clubs/associations and network of 60 European training organisations in BE, ES FR, IT, PT & CZ.The project builds upon and validates, two previously funded Leonardo da Vinci projects, namely Q*For and ESTQM, for which the current partners also collaborated. The benchmarking methodology and tools developed by the project will enable both training institutions and potential trainees to identify best practice training provision.
