With the development of Békéscsaba Airport, the beneficiary organization aimedto develop tourism, particularly medicinal tourism, as hotels in Békés Countyfully satisfy the accommodation demands primarily of guests from Romania.Based on the statistics of the County Hospital, the number of Romanian citizens visitingfor medicinal treatment is increasing year by year. Charter flights from cross-borderRomanian airports may contribute to more comfortable travels, more effective recreationand medicinal treatment of people living there; on the Hungarian side, the volume oftourism may increase. As a result of the project, the track and hydraulic constructionworks of the covered runway at Békéscsaba Airport were completed.
