Become More Outdoor

A seminar “Become More Outdoor!” is designed to bring together people who are working with youth on everyday basis (youth workers, youth leaders, project managers, peer-to-peer educators) and who do not have yet any or so much experience on using outdoor activities as a tool for learning. The seminar will give the chance for them to build common understanding on outdoor activities as an effective source for non-formal learning and youth work, share experiences, introduce main theories, concepts and values of outdoor, provide space for experiencing outdoor activities and thus allowing to discover the power of the outdoor, develop technical skills in outdoor and thus become more aware, skilled and motivated to use them in everyday youth work and developing ideas for follow-up activities and future cooperation in relation to outdoor education. The seminar would last for 7 days (excluding travel), include 24 participants from altogether 8 organizations in Programme countries (Latvia, Poland, Romania, Turkey) and Partner countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia) +3 trainers and 3 support staff (altogether 30 person). It is going to be held in Bakuriani, Georgia, 30/07 – 07/08/2014. The project would use wide variety of learning methods (methods aimed at sharing the experiences of participants, outdoor activities enabling experiencing it by being a participant, various self-reflection methods, group work, discussions, interactive presentations, NFL activities designed by participants creative workshops, etc.) - making the learning process as interactive, effective, fun and creative as possible. By getting motivated and the seminar would inspire participants to bring these practices back home and improve their daily work with youth.
