The project will be implemented in Albania in partnership with Kosovo, Macedonia, UK, and Italy, with the participation of 6 young people and a group leader from each country. The young participants will present their own cultures, including history, traditions, music, traditional costumes etc. The various presentations and discussion sessions will provide possibility for cultural exchange, promoting attitudes of openness, reciprocate appreciation and European integration. We will also discuss democracy and values underlying European Union. For some activities, participants will be divided into small groups composed of mixed nationalities. As a result of such a direct experience, young people will be able to see value in cultures different than their own and will carry that experience into their future life and society. Part of the program will consist of visits to historical sites of Albania, such as Petrela castle and National Museum in Tirana, and participation in a musical show of an Albanian group performing Albanian folk music in Elbasan. As a result of the cultural workshop, young people will prepare together a common performance, which they will then present in two rural schools, what will contribute to multiplying the results of the project, making the school children aware of the richness of various cultural traditions and history. The final step will be preparation of a documentary combined of photos and movie captions made during the week of activities, which can then be used in all participating countries to disseminate project results.
