This training follows the Grundtvig « Fusion for Innovation » project developed by the Synergy network in which Solidarités Jeunesses takes part. During this project Solidarités Jeunesses implemented a training for facilitators about peace building in international projects. Conflict resolution methods were presented in this training and had triggered a particular interest among participants. As a consequence Solidarités Jeunesses decided to carry on the reflection and to train actors about this topic. The project « Be the change : a training about conflict resolution for intercultural dialogue », is focused on the topic of conflict resolution to foster intercultural dialogue. The training aims at strenghthening the role of IVS and youth organisations as actors for peace and intercultural dialogue initiatives. The main objective of the project is to train the members of IVS and youth organisations on conflict resolution methods and on intercultural communication tools. The concepts, methods, and tools presented will allow the participants to boost reflection and to enrich their daily practice as leader of intercultural groups. Back in their organisations they will have the key elements to foster intercultural dialogue and to transform the conflicts which might be triggered during internationl youth projects. The training will present the different approaches of conflict resolution and management in order to give a common basis of knowledge to the participants. Methods and tools of conflict resolution and management such as mediation, forum theatre or non-violent communication will be presented and experimented. The methodology relies on non-formal education and the team of trainers will alternate between theoritical contributions and pratical inputs. Innovative and participatory methods will also be used so as to create a group dynamic based on confidence and respect. The training will take place from January 31st to February 6th 2016 (travel days included) in the village of Laguépie (Tarn-et-Garonne). The regional delegation of Solidarités Jeunesses in Midi-Pyrénées, Citrus, will host the training. The project will gather 20 participants who will acquire new tools, exchange their knowledge, ideas and learn new methods around the topic of conflict resolution and intercultural dialogue. Following the training, the participants will play an important role as multipliers since they will be in charge of implementing informative sessions and interventions to raise awareness on the issue of conflict resolution in intercultural projects. They will facilitate workshops during trainings for youth leaders of international workcamps, for the coordination staff of international projects or during informative sessions to promote volunteering activities.
