BASKI - Basic Skills Trainings Model
Start date: Oct 1, 2005,

Whilst adults without disabilities live a self-determined life, persons with learning and/or other disabilities (motor, cognitive, sensory, emotional) often live more heteronomous lives, something particularly evident in the case of institutionalised individuals. The BASKI project aimed at reducing the dependency of disabled persons, in particular institutionalised and hospitalised individuals, through providing basic skills training, preparing participants for more active and independent participation in society. Activities centred round the development of a basic skills training model, incorporating a basic skills curriculum, didactic material and learning methodologies with a secondary focus upon the coaching of associated professionals in the care, support and counselling of the target group.
