Basic Animation Skills on Employability

The project called ´Basic animation skills for Employability´, its main idea is to support youngsters and youth workers in the acquisition and development of soft skills in the area of animation and using as a leverage for employability. The unemployment which Europe is going through increasingly affects more and more young people and this issue is becoming very relevant topic. It is desirable that these youngsters have started to work on their skills to increase personal potential thus improve their labor market value.The main objectives of the project were defined as to: - Provide tools and methods of animation like face painting, modeling balloons, clown, theatre, group dynamics, juggling, and others, forum theatre, group animation, - Share good practices and methods in the field of youth work - Enhance soft skills of staff in the field of youth work - Facilitate the promotion of communication and partnerships among youth organizations and youth leaders/ workers - Share opportunities to use animation tools as development of opportunities in employability The training course will be held in Beja (Portugal) from 6 to 15 of June 2016 . It gathers 24 participants (including staff) with age mainly from 18 to 35 years old with gender balance. It is intended that participants should have a profile as Youth leaders, Youth worker, facilitator or youngster from involved organization.The countries involved are eleven in total: Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Croatia, Italy, Greece. The methods of work will be mostly non-formal, with learning by doing, with a lot of practice, exercise, games, acting, performing, graphic-art activities, dialogic methods (like conversation, discussion, dramatization) and presentations. With using these methods we expected that the participants will acquire or improve the communication skills (assertive and non-violence in verbal and non-verbal way) the skills of improvisation, self-confidence and self-efficacy, dexterity, creativity and imagination skills. The participants will achieve the knowledge in different types of animation. We will be developing the sense of acceptance and respect towards other cultures, countries and ways to work, developing in this way their attitude and behaviour towards others as well as cooperation skills and team work.We foresee the project will have a deep impact in local, national and international levels: at local all the partners will create events where to present the outcomes and results of the project, and we can count on the participation of all the organizations contacts. At the other levels the impact will be reached through spreading the outcomes of the project by variety media (Internet, social networks, radio, newspaper) in the way to help other youth workers and organizations to know more about basic animation skills and how they can be used for personal and professional development. At long term many people can benefit with the skills and knowledge acquired by the participants, since they will keep them during their life, helping youngsters and organizations. Moreover we believe that after using the knowledge and skills by participants in practice, there could be occur to influencing of positive attitude of healthy lifestyle since the field of animation is becoming useful tool for mental and physical health of people.
