Barışın Anahtarı: Dünya Vatandaşlığı. The Key to Peace: World Citizenship.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project is a European Union Youth Exchange Project that will take up a period of 6 months, bringing together 28 young people aged 18-22, from Turkey, Lithuania, Macedonia and Bulgaria, and the content and application of which will be formed by the youths themselves, through their own talents, skills and creativity. Through non-formal learning activities and applications carried out in Fethiye / Muğla (TR) and Salihli / Manisa (TR), we'll improve the awareness and knowledge of the participant youths and the general public on humanity's common issues such as the EU principles, the criteria for EU citizenship, universal values, the role of the youths, the environment, ecology, organic farming, cross-cultural interactions, and thus help the participants discuss "why and how to be a World Citizen" and have them find the answers and solutions themselves. Our targets are: to get mutually familiar with the way of life and customs and traditions of different cultures; to eliminate, to a certain extent, the loss of respect for nature, racism, every kind of discrimination, inequality between men and women, the violation of minority rights and all kinds of prejudice; to cultivate understanding, democracy, respect for human rights and civil liberties and social peace in young people as future's adults. Doubtless to say, the application of this project will contribute to personal and social development of the young participants. In addition to this, with the help of the training and certificates given to the participants during this project, the youths will know how to look at and analyze world problems from different angles, to put forward new ideas on world issues, to develop a global identity, to able to recognize cultural differences, to have a deep understanding of their social roles in Europe as well as in the whole of the world, to be free from prejudices, to take active and efficient part in contemporary world in an ethical manner, and thus become a well-prepared and well-educated "World Citizen".
