To realise a cruise, the cruise vessel must visit several ports and therefore cooperation between Baltic ports and destinations is essential. It's important that we all deliver the same service and high standards to make cruise lines consider cruising in our region. On an international level there are many other destinations competing to get business from the cruise lines. 20% growth in the number of cruise passengers visiting the BSR and 4% growth of the BSR's share of the global cruise market. This will create new jobs in branches providing various services to cruise passengers in Baltic cruise cities and generate extra revenues for city budgets. Achievements: Moreover, with 30% of cruise passengers coming back to the BSR, in the long run the project will result in the growth of other types of incoming tourism in the Baltic. Spatial planning approach applied by the project will ensure that the cruise sector's growth will bring the maximum added value for the BSR sustainable development, and the established platform for joint marketing will open new opportunities for the sector's long-term growth.
