Nowadays, teaching subjects which belong to the area of science or language education is a priority in the whole Europe. As a small elementary school we put emphasis on developing the skills of our students in the above mentioned areas. However, without teachers’ knowledge and abilities, it is simply impossible to educate pupils and develop their skills. Therefore, we have decided to set up a project of digitization in our school. We set ourselves realistic goals which we would like to achieve at the specific time and on the basis which will later on allow us to push further our planned activities. Today, the way we introduce children to the world of knowledge is still too formal, straightforward and not interesting in most schools. The differences are easily noticed when we compare Poland with other countries. Unfortunately, teachers who were brought up in another educational and old-fashioned system cannot see them. Those who want changes base their knowledge on trainings and projects like the one we would like to take part in. Those teachers are the forerunners of new, modern educational institutions. The title of our project is “Let’s become a school on cloud nine, let’s not stay behind - let’s fly in the world of science, learn ourselves and teach others in the most modern way in the area of mathematics, biology and foreign languages.' Following the words of Ken Robinson, who was awarded TED Prize in 2013 for his statements about teaching and learning at school “in the cloud”, we want to be well prepared for the new image of our school to meet the expectations of parents and their children and the world around us. The project focuses on exploring and implementing new methods of teaching using TiK tools. For teachers, the main purpose is the acquisition and improvement of their skills using TiK tools. In effect, students will be more motivated to learn and their awareness of the need for learning will increase. Other objectives include: the increase in learning outcomes through the use of TiK tools by teachers and the headmaster, the improvement in the quality of teachers’ work, the popularization of modern teaching. The effects of higher motivation and the improvement in students’ attitude education will be analyzed on a regular basis through various surveys, comparisons of learning outcomes and tests. We will explore new ways of working with students. We will look for similarities and differences in teaching and learning styles by attending integration meetings with other participants of this course and by familiarizing with the new multimedia tools used in other countries. We will look closely at educational tools prepared by the institution which is organizing the course. The tools and methods that we want to learn about and finally implement in our school include: converting audio files, creating a virtual learning environment for students (Virtual Learning Environments VLE), introducing a programming language Scratch, blended learning through The Flipped Classroom, podcasting with students, using teachers’ surveys at work: Podbean, Survey Monkey, and others. Our educational facility, which is called Zespół Szkolno-Przedszkolny w Słowiku, consists of a kindergarten and primary school. All students and teachers from school will participate in the project. We are planning a few trips to other school facilities during the holidays. Since we are a small school with a small number of teachers, we cannot afford to travel during the school year. The trip dates have been agreed with the following institutions we intend to visit: The Digiteachers, St. Tiernans Community School, Balally, and Dublin 16 in Ireland. We wanted to add that we are trying to approach the project with full energy and already developed plans to achieve adequate results. We will set up a blog and update the information about our actions. During the realization of the project activities, which will last 12 months, we will upload all the materials, reports on domestic and international trainings, cooperation results, photos and PowerPoint presentations, lesson plans and videos presenting our new ways of teaching, as well as the main product that is an innovative program written by the participants of the project for all students. Motivating students is the most important task for all teachers. Building lasting educational motivation is often called the art of motivating a student. A good teacher should possess adequate skills to be an artist and expert in such art. Therefore, we will also do our best to develop our own pedagogical skills. One of the ways to increase the motivation to work is mastering the competence i.e. knowledge and skills. Only a fully qualified teacher, a specialist not only in the subject they teach, but also in psychology, pedagogy and didactics, can help students to increase their brain power and skills. And it is also our goal. The punch line is also set ourselves the goal.
