Two institutions take part in the project “Possibilities of innovation in the nursing of the elderly after German examples". The sending institute is the Márton Csernák Nursing Home, a nursing home funded and maintained by the Reformed Church Community of Kaposvár (Hungary), that provides full-time medical care. The home provides practicing possibilities to nurse trainees. The partner institute is the Weiterbildungsinstitut WBI GmbH (Training Institute Ltd.), a training and consulting institute, that already took part in sever Leonardo Molitity projects over the past years. The have contacts to vocational schools, nursery schools, health centers, sport associations, companies. They organize visits at social institutes during the project. The participants of the program are employees of the Márton Csertán Nursing Home in Kaposvár and of its partner institution the Béla Ikafalvi Farkas Reformed Nursing Home in Taszár. A manager from both institutes, an accountant, who is responsible for the bookeeping of both institutes, a socio-pedagogue, three social nurses. Their stay in Germany will be acknowledged as working hours. The goal of this project for our participants is to take an insight into the particularities of the German health sector and get to know the health care training systems methodology and pedagogy observe the health care standard and the emergency management protocols during their visits at health care institutes take an insight into the every day function of six nursing homes (maintained by the government, the Church and private) and observe the following areas: management, structure, principles, procedures, economical background, sources, external and internal communication, services, answer to needs, marketing. An additional purpose of the project is to develop participants’ communication skills in a foreign language and their social competences. It is also important to adapt the observations such as new methodologies to the local possibilities and incorporate the experiences to our institutions nursing system. The expected outcome of the project is for the participants to meet international experiences, to take an insight to more effective methods - incorporating all this to our strategy, the level of our care will rise. The success of our project could also stimulate other institutes to apply. In the long run, the project could also start an extensive cooperation on a national and international level. The main steps of carrying out the project are signing the contracts, selecting and informing the participants, final setting of the programmes, preparation for the journeys, organising preparatory seminars for the participants, fulfilling the professional practice, evaluating and publishing the results and outcome of the project.
