Awareness rising of the youth on gender equalityand women’s role in conflict prevention

The goal of the EVS project is to increase women’s role in conflict prevention via increasing women’s access toeducation and economic empowerment of internally displaced (IDP), conflict affected and national minoritywomen. The volunteer will help the organisation during 6 months from February to August 2016.The objectives of the project are: (i) to monitor the implementation of NAP 1325 and coordinate withcivil society for the adoption of new plan (2016-2019); (ii) to raise public awareness on women’s role in conflictprevention; (iii) to increase access to education for economic empowerment of internally displaced, conflictaffected and national minority women.The project will focus on following activities:2.1. Awareness rising of the youth on gender and women’s role in conflict prevention, through universities; 2.2. Awareness rising of journalists and wider media representatives on gender sensitive reporting during conflict and post-conflict situations; 2.3. Preparation of short documentary films on gender and conflict followed by wider outreach. Another part of the project will be include meetings with students of Journalist faculty and youth interested in topics of the project, what will make possible to share experience and knowledge, establish contacts, and plan potential future projects.Project will improve volunteer’s learning process, her professional skills and language competencies, as well as intercultural awareness and skills, it will contribute to volunteer’s self-empowerment, and increase her employability, as well as entrepreneurship. Project will also contribute to reapproachment of values of Georgian and Italian society, especially youth and media in regard of gender equality and women’s rights.
