AVRUPA UYUM ÇALIŞMALARI VE İYİ EĞİTİMLİ PERSONELİN İSTİHDAMI

The project, which is named “ European adaptation works and employment of well-trained staff “, was prepared under the leadership of Şule Muzaffer Büyük Vocational and Technical High School and together with Fethi Yılmaz Sezer Vocational and Technical High School, Evliya Çelebi Vocational and Technical High School. The common part of these three schools is that they provide an important number of employments to the tourism in Manavgat district. In 2014, student internship projects were prepared in the field of Food and Beverage department with Costa De Azahar School which is located in Spain. These projects were carried out successfully. A consortium was created by the schools which has the same need in the area to continue these projects. By developing our international relationships and composing a good partnership with European partners we applied to the project. It includes that Food and Beverage department students in the consortium will intern in restaurants and hotels located in four different Europe countries. The main aims of the project: Developing students’ skills and professions, improving their language skills to be eligible stuff in the labor markets, raising their motivation to get a university degree, helping them to have self esteem, creating a modern vocational education system and europeanize the training program, changing the perspective of people about the vocational education. Participants will be chosen among the students who studies in Food and Beverage department and they should accomplish the first six-month of internship. During the process nine mobility activities are planed from Turkey to abroad and there will be a teacher and eight students in every mobility group. At the end of the project seventy-two students and nine teachers in total will have the opportunity to develop their skills by participating in training at Europe. Students in internship program will stay for fifteen days in abroad and they will learn the cultural dishes of Spain, Bulgaria, Romania and Poland. Then they will transfer their knowledge and skills to the students by presentations, transfer to the local people by exhibitions and press media and finally they will transfer their skills to many people by national competitions. In two years process, from preparation to final reporting of the project, the consortium schools will carry out all activities together. For preparation of the project, organizing activities, dissemination and to reach the project's aims and objectives in the most accurate way a project team has been established among the members of consortium. A control commission has been established among the school principals in the consortium to monitor the activities and expenditure. It is aimed that students will learn the cooking methods of food in different countries, increase personal development and self-esteem, improve foreign language skills, increase respect for different cultures and tolerance and being able to be employed and also we aim that students will get knowledge about Europe labor safety issues and increase their motivation to continue higher education. By doing internships in abroad within the scope of EU programs, vocational high school students will expand the vision of our school. Employers in the tourism sector as social partner will provide to gain new actors for vocational training. So, the point of view of society about vocational high school will change positively and it will easily be seen that well- trained students in vocational high schools be employed in their field.
