Within the frame of our project called as ‘’Communicative Skills Practice in Autism Education in Europe’, that is prepared by Özçınar Special Education Practice Center, our teachers will get training related with the Autism Education in Europe by using the observation techniques that are applied abroad. Our project contains the training program and observation activities designed for the group of teachers consisting of 8 people, and it will be conducted as two flows. The training program was designed for 2 weeks of period. Main theme of our training is to develop the communicative skills of the autistic students and to make those autistic students as socially integrated individuals in their life. One of the aims which will be achieved by this main theme is to make our teachers to gain communicative and other skills of early diagnosis of the autistic individuals and fulfilling their professional competence with the observation methods in the field of raising those autistic people as individuals integrated in the society and the methods applied in Europe. The intensive training period applied by the developed countries on the autism education is an individual education at least 20 hours in a week. However, the duration of individualized education for autistic people that is supported by the government in our country is 2-sessions in a week, that is, it forms only the %10 of the required education-period. According to the statistics of the Ministry of National Education, only 2114 autistic children have got education in the state schools across the Turkey. The main barrier of achieving to meet the needs of autistic children and their families is that there are not enough teachers both in qualification and in the number that will give education for the autistic children in our country. Currently, almost all the graduates who have completed their undergraduate study in the field of disabled education start to work immediately. The main reason of this situation is that training volunteer teachers in this field have been started to be encouraged recently. In the light of the results of the statistical data and the assessment conducted by our institutions, our school has been insufficient in meeting the educational and vital needs of autistic individuals. With our project called as ‘’Communicative Skills Practice in Autism Education in Europe’’, our teachers will have training on Autism Education Methods in Europe by applying observation techniques in our foreign partner institute. 8 teachers will participate in our project that will take place in Holland as two movements. It is to make our teachers to gain communicative and other skills of early diagnosis of the autistic individuals and fulfilling their professional competence with the observation methods in the field of raising autistic people as individuals integrated in the society and the methods applied in Europe. The start point of the project is the fact that the children or the adults diagnosed as autistics have great difficult is establishing meaningful relationships with other people. Studies will be conducted to determine the efficiency of our project in achieving its aims and how far it has been efficient after the movements will have been done. There will be organized meetings in our studies based on the evaluation reports of our participants. The meetings, seminar and sharing of our project’s outputs will continue through the dissemination programs. In this way, participants will be able to reach their target audience and the awareness studies for the autistic students will increase. The main theme of our project will be also contributed. The EU candidate country status of our country has enabled it to participate in a great number of common projects with EU 2010-2020 Disability Strategy. The member states of the European Union are jointly taking actions on many issues despite having different education systems. Especially with the aim of removing the negative discrimination, the common strategies and policies were determined, in which member states participate. In this context, the projects that are prepared for the special education and for the disability, will be one of the factors increasing the prestige of our country in the eye of the EU.
