Avrupa'da Mesleki Eğitimde Özel Eğitim Uygulamaları
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project is a consortium which will be held under the leadership of İncirli Vocational and Technical High School. 10 vocational training schools and 60 teachers who will be selected from these schools will participate in this project, so a wide domain shall be reached. Teachers working in the vocaional education fields generally recieve a standart pedagogical education. The number of students who needs special education is very much in our country. Special education classes are decided to open in schools with the new legal arrangements and the preparetions have been initiated. But our teachers do not have enough knowledge and skills about teaching students with special education needs. Students with special education needs are different from other students. They need a “individualized education program”(IEP). Our teachers are not qualified to prepare this special training program because they do not have the enough knowledge and skill. The most important aim of the project is that our participants to increase their skills on preparing IEP and to find a way to make it easier to reach students with special educational needs. Our teachers will receive a training to improve their skills on vocational trainings in Europe. They will experience observing special education classes on-site and will eliminate their shortcomings in this area. A methodology will be determined by our leader team to keep our project activity from any kind of problems. The other project teams that established in each consortium member schools will be responsible to the project team leader. The project will be implemented through cooperation and solidarity without any glitch. Participants and target groups will be positively effected with the accomplish of this project. The most important effect is that participants will gain the ability to transfer their professional knowledge to the special education students. The communication between teachers and students will be strenghtened. The students in need special education will reach easier to vocational training that they need. The families of special education students will benefit from the project in a positive way. The families will be reliefed when they see that their children develop their vocational and social skills. Ultimately, we can discuss the effects that will be created in our schools. Our teachers will be able to observe special education classes in Europe and they will play a key role in special education classes which will be opened in our country.
