Auslandspraktikum von Auszubildenden in Metall- und Elektroberufen in Polen
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The vocational school Lauingen is located in Dillingen, Germany. Nearly 2000 students visit our school as part of their dual training education. Our school strives international networking with European educational institutions to offer students to take a first step into the European labour market. The successful partnership with Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte (BSH) in Lodz, Poland, during the last four years shall be continued in the future. In the context of the Eurasmus+ program (mobility of students) the vocational school Lauingen sends out students from various disciplines for three weeks to the partner institution to perform an internship in the field of electrical and mechanical engineering. BSH Lodz is due to its corporate structure (German partner plants, high quality standards, departments of electrical engineering, automation, metal technology and IT) an ideal partner to pursue the internationalization objectives of our institution. The aim of this mobility is to accompany students to take the first steps into the European labour market and to exchange on technical, linguistic, cultural and historical level. In addition to strengthening of educational content, the European Union will be actively experienced as a common culture and working space. The added value of a united Europe will come to mind. The vocational school Lauingen strives through this project to improve the international dimension of vocational training and to sharpen its perception as an innovative, internationally oriented educational institution. Thirty trainees with specialisation of metal work, construction mechanics, draftsmen, industrial mechanics, mechatronics, electronics for energy and building systems and electronics for information and system technology participate in this mobility. Participants are all over 18 years old and in the final year of training. They thus already have good theoretical and practical knowledge, while they also have the necessary personal and social maturity needed for this internship. During the internship the participants dive into the international world of work. They must agree with Polish colleagues and work on projects independently. In order to facilitate the cultural and social exchanges common weekend trips, and sports and leisure activities are carried out with Polish students of the Szespol Skolna school in Lodz. The responsibility for each indivdual to seek for peace and freedom in Europe will be reflected during a multi-day workshop in the concentration camp at Auschwitz. The mobility is organized by an international team of experienced teachers from the school in Lauingen in cooperation with the partner institution. Participants are chosen by considering the personality, academic achievements and motivation and prepared by seminars held in the vocational school in Lauingen. During the internship, participants are mentored by experienced teachers. The supervising teachers are in close contact with representatives of the partner institution and organise leisure activities and workouts with Polish students. Participants will be confident after their return to Germany in their operations in carrying out their professional duties and are receptive to new tasks. The trainees will see this internship as enrichment, also for their development of personality. They are able to reflect more consciously the German-Polish history. In our view, this internship is an essential part of European integration on an intercultural, international, and professional level. From year to year the support from our industrial partners for this mobility increases. Instructors recognize the professional and social value for their trainees, which is gained by the internship. This is reason enough for us to inspire young people for this internship and thus to fulfill our personal educational mission.
