Auslandspraktika und Europakompetenz von Schülern und Lehrern des RBZ Wirtschaft . Kiel 2016 - 2018
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Summary of the ProjectProject A1 and A4:The projects “practical training abroad for commercial trainees in Szeged” (Project A1) and “practical training abroad for trainee Designers Specialising in Photography in Devon” (Project A2) comprise intensive linguistic, cultural and pedagogical preparation in Germany and a three-week work placement in Szeged, respectively a twelve-week work placement in Devon, UK. 28 commercial trainees will participate in a learning experience in Szeged (Hungary), 4 trainee Designers Specialising in Photography will take part in a learning experience in Devon (UK).The participants are either in their dual training in small and medium-sized German enterprises or they are on a full-time initial vocational training programme at the RBZ Wirtschaft . Kiel and have little or no insight in working structures and organisational processes outside their own companies. This deficit is to be compensated during the period of learning experience abroad. In addition to the expansion of professional skills and the experiencing of new, international company structures the focus of the project is on the acquisition of social, personal, intercultural and linguistic skills. With regard to globalisation, these are essential competences and skills in order to become competitive on the European labour market. The professional aim of project A1 is to get the participants involved in more administrative tasks in the Hungarian companies than they would experience in their home companies in Germany. Along with their work placement, it is intended that the participants gain experience and competences regarding the Hungarian culture and language. Project A4 is designed to give students the opportunity to get familiar with the daily workflow in the photographic industry such as creating, finishing, editing and archiving images. This incorporates the acquisition and improvement of skills in working with professional photographic software as well as the commercial skills in sales and purchasing of photo articles. The projects will be attended and supervised both by the German sending organisation and by the receiving organisations in Szeged and Devon. By visiting and supporting them directly on site, the supervising teachers from the sending organisations will ensure that the participants can successfully integrate in the unfamiliar company structures abroad. At regional level, it is intended to foster the willingness to promote and support stays abroad for trainees. Furthermore the relationships with the Hungarian and British partner organisations shall be expanded and intensified for further projects and cooperation. Project A2:In the course of the project “International business simulation with international teams” the participating schools- RBZ Wirtschaft . Kiel / Germany, - Staffansgymnasiet from Söderhamn / Sweden, - Rijn Ijssel College from Arnheim / Netherlandswill exchange students to take part in a simulation involving trade between international student enterprises. Our most important goals are:As many students as possible should have the opportunity to participate in international business simulations in order to gather experience in international trade and in working with international teams. Thereby the students should develop intercultural vocational competence as well as foreign language skills in a vocational context. We support the integration of bilingual teaching with English as main language. We will simulate a complex occupational situation in which international enterprises will do business with other international businesses from abroad. Within two years we will execute two simulations, each with three participating schools. This will involve a large number of students and teachers. The students will:- set up enterprises- select and employ staff on the international job market- apply for jobs abroad- integrate foreign employees in their companies to benefit from the cultural differences of their workforce in international trade.Project A3:This project is an indispensable supplement to project A2. Here the teaching staff of the RBZ - Wirtschaft . Kiel will acquire the necessary skills to guide multinational learning groups and to create bilingual teaching strategies to teach the knowledge and skills that are essential for the execution of the simulation. For this purpose we will make use of the comprehensive experience of our partner TTPL in working with multi-national learning groups.
