Ausbau und Verbesserung der inhaltlichen, methodischen und pädagogischen Qualität unseres bilingualen CLIL-Unterrichts (Content and Language Integrated Learning)

Background: We are a small school which focuses on foreign languages and values. Goal: Our goal is internationalization and improvement of the quality of our CLIL lessons (Content and Language Integrated Learning). Profile of participants: It concerns two teachers. They are responsible for all CLIL matters at our school and create lesson plans in English together with the respective subject teachers. Activities and implementation: Advanced education – We plan on sending two teachers responsible for CLIL to London in order to participate in two courses that focus on CLIL and creative methodology as well as managing and developing self and others. We hope for them to acquire enhanced knowledge as well as innovative and practical ideas concerning CLIL and management of our staff. Dissemination – After coming back both teachers will edit the school’s CLIL concept and offer numerous seminars, consultations and monitoring for colleagues with the goal to eliminate existing differences in didactics and methodology. Results and long-term objectives: We hope that CLIL will be offered in all subjects within the next two years. In the end, those profiting the most will be our students. Experience has shown that CLIL raises interest in foreign languages and cultures. This will then be an important basis for future school partnerships and projects which will have a lifelong impact on our students.
