The project "Let's grow the School!" is presented by Kaunas Waldorf School. This is a non-governmental school, providing general education, where the educational process is based on Waldorf pedagogics. Currently (school year 2015-2016) there are 1-10 grades and two kindergarten groups. The school is attended by 167 pupils, with 26 teachers employed. The school's strategic objective is to grow to a full 12 grades school of Waldorf pedagogics, providing education of high-quality, responding the needs of modern youth.The need of the project raised from the school's objective - to seek the improvement of the quality of education by creating the conditions for pedagogic staff to develop professional competencies for organizing a successful education in upper school.The aim of the project - to create conditions for teaching and administrative staff, responsible for the organization of education to gain/develop professional competencies, needed for preparation and implementation of a successful education in 9-12 grades at Kaunas Waldorf School. Our objectives:1. To participate in the training courses corresponding to these science fields:Languages (English, German);The humanities- social sciences (History and/or Geography)Nature sciences (Chemistry and/or Physics)Arts (Music, Fine Arts and/or Technologies).2. To establish contacts with at least 3 EU organizations for creating a network of high school students educational practice (students operational, cultural and co-operation visits). To fulfil these objectives our staff would gain or develop:-pedagogical competencies such as the creation of educational/learning environments, the development of subject curriculum, the motivation and support of students, the management of educational process.-Key competences for lifelong learning (learning to learn, social and civic competences, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, communication in foreign languages)- Competencies of the particular subjects, needed for organizing the innovative and the learner-centred educational process in 9-12 grades.To pursue our aim we are planning 3 mobilities of our school staff:1. Training courses for the German teachers - Internationale Deutsch-Woche 2016. Two German teachers will participate in this mobility.2. Training courses for the English teachers - International English week 2016. Two English teachers will participate in this mobility.3. Training courses for the upper school teachers - the 9th International Refresher Course Week. Three teachers + 1 administrative staff, responsible for the organization of education will take part in this mobility.The participants in all mobilities, but especially the teachers of the foreign languages will establish contacts with the teachers form the others EU countries. The contacts will be used to create the network of high school students educational practice.The Project will last for 1 year and will include 3 mobilities with 8 participants.The results of the Project:1. 7 sets of methodical recommendations appropriate for developing and implementing the Curriculum of 9-12 grades (English, German, History and/or Geography, Chemistry and/or Physics, Music, Art and/or Technologies) and 1 seminar for Lithuanian teachers community.2. 1 informational presentation of administrative staff, responsible for the organization of education, organized to the community of the School (teachers, parents, upper students).3. At least 3 contacts with the members of organizations of foreign countries organized by the participants of the Project. This result will mostly serve the school in the field of European overall enlargement because the contacts with the foreign partners will allow in the future to implement communication projects.
