AU - DEPKT - Design Education Partnership and Knowledge Transfer

The Design Education Partnership and Knowledge Transfer project builds upon longstanding exchangelinks between Swinburne University of Technology and the University of Art and Design Helsinki (TAIK)through their membership of CUMULUS, a leading international association of design schools. The projectinvolves four institutions in Europe and three in Australia each committed to a balanced exchange ofstudents. In total 84 students, 42 in each direction, will be funded. Approximately 20 staff will be mobilizedover the duration of the program in support of curriculum development and other forms of academiccollaboration. The project will be sustainable beyond the funding period delivering outcomes including: (1)widening and strengthening existing consortium links; (2) operating in both the higher education andvocational education sectors; (3) developing innovative core curriculum among the partners with a view tocreating joint degrees; and, (4) mutually enhancing teaching, research and industry linkages betweenAustralia and Europe.
