Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Lélektér Foundation was accredited as an EVS delegating and hosting organization in October, 2014. Since then, the Foundation has participated in and coordinated many successful youth exchanges in the European Union. In this project the partners from Turkey, Italy, Romania, Poland and Spain possess significant experience in youth exchange - many joint projects were successfully implmented. Due to this success, we have met young people who are interested in participating in intercultural learning opportunities. Therefore, Lelekter Foundation and the above mentioned partners have developed „Arts in the Mirror of the EU” project, a youth exchange in Hungary. In the preparation process the needs and interests of the youth have been identified. These are in the realm of the various art forms and other creative activities. To ensure the exceptional quality of the program, more organizations focus on the arts. One of the main goals of the project is to give opportunities to underpriviliged young people to participate in a youth exchange. Due to this, the partners delegate at least 1 geographically segregated or socially disadvantaged young person for the exchange. All in all, at least 6 underprivileged young people will participate in the project and obtain the advantage of the youth exchange in order to improve their competencies and broaden their horizon. The “Arts in the Mirror of the EU” project will be implemented from April 4-14, 2016 in Felsőörs (Hungary) at the Snétberger Music Talent Center. Workshops will be offered in 6 different art forms such as music, movie-making, drama, photo, design and fine arts.Without exception, the project implementers are experts with significant experience in youth exchange. Co-ordinators from each partner organization (Turkey, Italy, Romania, Poland, Spain) are social workers and the workshop leaders are well-respected professionals in their own fields. Alltogether there are 6 organizations involved in the project (5 partners + the Lélektér Foundation) with 1-1 experts of each art from every partner country. Our Foundation also delegates 5 professionals to ensure the quality of the project and 2 volunteers to help with the technical issues, administration and such. The workshops will be set up during the first preparation meeting, the tasks and the products will be determined by the leaders of each partner country. At the end of the project an exhibition will be organised with wide publicity. The artistic products are going to be printed in photobooks with cd-s as well, which are travelling with the exhibiton too. The regional and national media will be invited, a Facebook group will be set up for the participants due to the popularity of social media and for easier communication. The main goals of the project are to generate international co-operation via non-formal education and art workshops, exchange experience, to foster the system of youth policy, to strengthen social inclusion of the youth and to encourage them to take more active participation in the European democracy.Short-term goals of the project are to build new international networks, to propagate the Erasmus+ Programme, and to provide development of competencies of the participants’ varied skills. The program also aims to generate opportunities to learn and adapt good-practices, to improve language skills of the young. Also, it helps establish new art techniques and develop self-knowledge of the participants and to foster their social responsibility. The long term goal of this project is to increase solidarity, tolerance and social inclusion and to support and mobilize young people on their road of becoming active European citizens. Our youth exchange program includes all the priorities, goals and mission of the Erasmus+ Programme.Other important goals are to strengthen the co-operation, partnership between the participants and to provide the development of their competencies. We support them to achieve their personal goals, motivate them to get involved in self and community development activities by using their creativity and their gained experience. The impact of the project is that with the help of the new experience, knowledge they gained, they will be able to make positive changes.Through the arts and non-formal education the participants will be supported in their development of becoming conscious consumers, and active citizens of the European Union. "Arts in the mirror of the EU" project of Lélektér Foundation helps more young people to learn about and get involved in different opportunities offered by the European Union. On international level the project builds a well-functioning network amongst the 5 partner organizations, and offers opportunities for other countries to join this network in order to implement further successful projects.
