ArtMyPhoto!
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: Nov 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

There are two youngster organisations involved in this project - one from Latvia and one from France. Both of them are interested in improving quality of youth work. One of their field of activities is photography. They have participated in project before, made strong and friendly ties and want to continue to work together.Number of photos in the world grows every day as a result of social networks, which provide a possibility to share any photo. Young photographers learn from these photos. Because of that, overall quality of artistic photos becomes low.The aim of the project is to inspire participants to improve technical and artistic quality of their artistic photos for improving cultural competence among youth. The objectives of the project are: 1) to define, what is artistic photo and what are the demands for photography to be artistic;2) attract participant's attention to famous artistic photographers;3) provide information about different photography generes to participants;4) provide information about basic photo computer processing to participants;5) organise an exhibition of photos, made during the exchange. There are 20 participants involved from Latvia and France. These are youngsters from two organisations who have an interest in photography and don't have much experience. The main point is that participants have to be interested in photography, which means having a minimal experience in taking photos and/or having a camera or good camera phone. Project is meant for youngsters, who don't have big experiece and don't have a recognition in the field of artistic photography, because project is made for improving basic skills and competences and wouldn't be interesting and necessary for experienced young photographers. Participnts will be chosen by the leaders of organisations. Our objectives will be achieved using different informal education methods.First objective is define, which photos are considered as artistic photo. This will be done during the discussion (brainstorm) (3rd day) with help of Latvian photographer Jūris Justs, which will present artistic photography to participants and lead a discussion. Participants will be persuaded to think and define together, which photos are artistic and what is the definition for it.Second objective is to attract participant's attention to famous artistic photographers. This will be done with method of exchange of experience and games. Participants of both countries will prepare presentations and games (4th day), which will be prepared by participants before the exchange with help of group leader.Third objective is to provide information about different photography generes to participants. This is being done with the same method, as previous objective: participants of both countries will also prepare presentations and/or games (3rd day). Fourth objective is to provide information about basic photo computer processing to participants. This will be done by method of modelling during a workshop (5th day). Participants will be provided with information how to process photos digitaly by expert from Latvia and then they will have to process offered photos.Fifth objective is to provide a possibility to practice in making artistic photos. Participants will be able to practice on streets of Riga and in other cities (Jūrmala and Turaida) and expand their skills and experience.Sixth objective is organising an exhibition. It will be accomplished by participants with help of organisers.During the project, participants will develop and expand their cultural competences. As the participants are target group themselves, they will1) learn, what are the demands for artistic photography; they will get new skills in distinguishing artistic and non-artistic photos (cultural competence among art);2) get new skills in making artistic photography themselves after practicing (quality of youth work);3) get new knowledges in artistic photography, like famous artistic photographers and different genres (cultural competence among art);3) get new skills in processing their photos and improve their IT competences (IT competence);4) improve English language level (foreign language skills);5) improve social skills, which is speaking and discussion skill (learning how to find solutions and work with different people, youth participation, intercultural dialogue);6) improve problem solving skills. Our impact on society will be held through the exhibition. It will persuade participants to improve quality of their artistic photos. They will be aware, that this project was Erasmus+ project and they can make a project too.In long term, project can make stronger ties between France and Latvia.Organisations will be able to make more projects in future, involving organisations from other countries.
