Art, Poetry & Architecture – A Transnational Remix
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: May 1, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Art, Poetry & Architecture – A Transnational Remix" aims at linking young people engaged in the cultural sector from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Austria, the acquirement of intercultural and project management skills and the strengthening of the self-confidence as active cultural workers. It is at the same time an attempt to lay the foundation for an international network of cultural institutions in order to share and exchange knowledge and skills. It is often difficult for young artists to become part of an international network because of their lack of contacts and their limited financial resources. Therefore, it is difficult to acquire skills for acting in a culturally different environment. Furthermore, education in the cultural field often lacks a proper curriculum with regard to project management or fundraising and thus doesn't provide the necessary tools for students to become active themselves. The exchange projects shall encourage participants to become active and increase their Europe wide network, in order to advance their professional opportunities. The participants learn to work with people from other cultural realms and develop an understanding for the different living conditions of people working in various cultural disciplines. For a successful learning process it is crucial to learn from each other and make use of the variety of social, cultural and professional background of the participants. The Liechtenstein art association Kunstverein Schichtwechsel, the Austrian association Kibaku and the Icelandic organisation Samtok Frafarandi Undrabarna (SFU) partake in the project. All organizations are active in the field of art and art education. All together, 83 participants will take part in the Advance Planning Visits and Youth Exchanges.
