The youth exchange will take place in Palermo , capital of Sicily (Italy). This city was chosen because it is a city with a history full of traditions and art, but at the same time a multiethnic and multicultural city , in our opinion, a context that reflects the soul of the project. This bilateral exchange , it will last for a period of 9 days and is presented by the informal group Cen.S.I. (Centro Studi Internationali ) with the collaboration of Association Young Volunteers Firefighters- Sfera from Macedonia. Following the current problems of integration and social inclusion of young people , their lack of involvement in the local works and the lack of interest and knowledge of the cultural field , it seems appropriate to carry out a project on the theme of art as a tool for social inclusion ( Art understood as a tradition , modernity and work tool through the art of recycling ) . The aim will be , in the course of this project, to organize activities related to knowledge and curiosity about art, organize moments discussions around key topics like "What does it mean to be citizens? ", " How can you be actively involved in cultural local life? "... or around themes such as poverty , unemployment , immigration . These issues will be addressed through an artistic journey . Thanks to the collaboration of the Cooperative " Al Revers " this will be helpfull in developing the creativity of young people having the opportunity to do this as a possible tool. Through the art of painting and artists participatory make this art and to give them a main role in its discussions through the development of participatory initiatives . As well as traditional art depicted in presence of small artisans puppet (specifically Sicilian puppets ) that are still present and represent an art handed down and felt . It's underlined the importance of having the opportunity to have a space for expression (oral, written , body) and to socialize and interaction with other people of their age. The project will involve 27 participants from Italy and Macedonia, the group will present a mixed structure composed by participant coming from different contexts and difficult socio-cultural background, their age is from 18 to 25 years.
