Arctic Biological, Cultural and Geological heritage (ABCGheritage)

The objective of the project is to raise awareness of the protected areas and recreational areas on the region known as the Green Balt of Fennoscandia. The areas offer potential in many ways. There is, e.g. a growing interest on geology, growing interest on and knowledge of sustainable utilization of natural resources in tourism, and these possibilities have not yet been utilized. Especially they are not yet utilized among the young people, schoolchildren and schools, which are a central target group of this project. Expected Results: Main outputs of the project are following:- Portable exhibition of the Green Belt of Fennoscandia in three localized copies, circu-lated in all participating countries- Multivisio of natural values in Pasvik Trilateral Park- Geological recreational map of Khibiny Tundra- 3 nature trails in Khibiny Tundra, Lapland State Reserve and Svanhovd- Brochure and uniform signing of 10 geological demonstration sites in target area- Survey, renovation and signing of 6 cultural heritage demonstration sites on Pasvik and Lutto River valleys- Lapland Tour for Geotourists –guide published in paper and internet site- Website and mobile guidance services (gps + internet) of geological heritage of Pyhä-Luosto NP and cultural heritage sites of Urho Kekkonen National Park- Educational materials of protected areas, cultural heritage sites and geodiversity in the target area for schools- Educational packages and training courses of protected areas and geodiversity in the target area for teachers and other personnel working in nature interpretation and tour-ism.- Internet pages of new infrastructure and services, integrated to existing sites of the partners- Published results of surveys and analysis of project impacts in local economy and education- 3 cooperation networks of local and regional operators in the fields of nature protection under the Green Belt of Fennoscandia, geology and environmental education- 3 seminars of the topics geotourism, nature protection in the Green Belt and environ-mental education- Common monitoring system of phenological processes in nature by schools- Plan of exhibition for the new nature centre on Lake Tsuna in Lapland Reserve- Development plan of geotourism in Pyhä-Luosto NP and Khibiny Tundra- Overall development plan of cooperation under the Green Belt for 10 years
