Appreciating Europe's Culture through Youth Creativity
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Jan 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project explores music & culture vis-a-vis Youths. Music is one of those links with our fellow beings. Involvement in creative & cultural projects has a social dimension that is an important basis for building social capital and generate a community identity for youths. Music adds to the culture and is an important form of personal and group expression. If we look at all the societies and cultures, we can deduce that music has always played an important role in human society. Through this project we will explore how music functions in human society and how youths interact with it, how youths change it, pass it on and create new forms of expression. Music’s greatest value is its ability to embody and express that which is beyond actions and words. Music, through its communicative power, enhances youth engagement with the world in ways that have both personal and public benefits. These effects are instrumental in that they can open youths to life and create the fabric of shared values and meanings that improves the public sphere. Youth participation in musical performances encourages social cohesion and connectedness, thereby reducing youth isolation. This project is a youth exchange for 48 youth participants between the 12-10-2016 till 17-10-2016. An APV will be hosted in Malta on 05-09-2016, so that the project coordinators will ensure the logistics and safety of the participants is adhered to.
