This mobility expresses the ideas of an Italian group of young people and those of the associations applying for the funds, to contribute to the the analysis and development of an highly technological and useful instrument to assist those who are involved in the cultural and national heritage contexts. The development of a mobile application supported by a web portal for the development of customer care within museums shall enhance the service offered by museums both in Malta and Italy and it will enable them to monitor in real time the level of satisfaction by museum visitors.
Through the development of this product, the Italian and Maltese groups shall share, cooperate and live together in an direct cultural exchange by working together. During this project, the young persons will be the main participants and they shall together share creatively their cultural and ICT knowledge in order to make more accessible the archeological and historical heritage of the two countries.
However, the MAIN OBJECTIVE of this project is to bring together the ICT, linguistic and cultural competences together so as to empower and increase the level of confidence of these young persons. This enables them to improve their knowledge in the context of the arts, history, museum standards, ICT through the implementation of customer care within the museum services.
At the final stage, the young people shall disseminate their product together with the main stakeholders that is the Heritage Malta (still to be confirmed), the Vicenza museums and the Comune di Venezia that will be participating as stakeholders within this project. The achievement of the product enables the participants to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and their success. Social media and the news agencies will be used to disseminate the project together with the support of the institutions involved.
This project has a very strong multi-cultural and multi-linguistic element since the application will be developed in both in English and Italian together in the second phase in German and French with a possible future of implementing it in other European languages. The project will be built through participation of 16 young persons (8 Maltese and 8 Italians, 8 of whom are with strong Cultural and Historical background whilst the other 8 proficient in ICT).
All work shall be conducted through workshops, group activities, brainstorming, role playing, visits to the historical museums and sites, analysis of the services offered, meetings with Heads of the above mentioned institutions, interviews with clients, flowcharts, meetings with respective stakeholders and roundtable. Moreover, the young people shall be supported along their project in order to reach the set objectives. The project might have an important impact on the long-term in the Creative Cultural sector amongst the European countries and it aims to have a positive impact on tourism, by increasing the level satisfaction and the accessibility of citizens to the cultural heritage through ICT.
Above all, some of the participants of the groups might be unemployed after they have finished their studies and this mobility shall help them:
1. Be able to apply their knowledge into practice;
2. Be able to have a concrete project that they have achieved with entrepreneurial and tangible outcomes to increase their employability;
3. Be able to become leaders in their own field;
4. Be able to sell their product;
5. Be able to work as team from different cultures and different specialties;
6. Be able to speak English and Italian fluently which gives them higher accessibility to the work market;
7. Be able to enhance their technical terminology both in Italian and in English;
8. Be able to put into practice customer care and ICT skills;
9. Be able to apply their qualifications to work settings in a creative manner.
10. Be able to enhance their presentation skills
11. Be able to develop marketing skills.
The above skills, such as selling, customer care, marketing, leadership skills, etc usually are not fully or not integrated in the ICT or History/Archeology qualifications or courses that these young people would have undergone. Such skills today are essential for the employability and the above project will give these young people a higher possibility of being employed as these can be manifested through the end result of this mobility.
