The Official School of Languages of San Sebastián de los Reyes ( Madrid) is a public institution devoted to teaching foreign European languages to adults.This KA1 project “A movement towards Innovation and Networking” arises from the needs of the staff to undertake actions that will lead to improvements in daily teaching work, in students´achievements and to establish a rich network for educational institutions for future KA2 projects.Our school has established a four-year Strategic Plan (2015-19) agreed by the academic community to “become a leading institution in language teaching in the north of Madrid region” and participating in this KA1 action is one of the strategies designed to reach our goals.The project takes into account the need of our organization to acquire additional innovative teaching methods and provide our teachers with the skills and competences for the society of the XXI century. There will be five mobilities, which will involve three departments: Italian, French and English.On the one hand, we plan to participate in two teacher courses: a course on the neurolinguistic approach to teaching and other innovative teaching methods in Italy and a course on how to teach and assess oral competence. Both experiences will also provide an opportunity to improve linguistic skills and gain cultural awareness. On the other hand, we plan three study visits to vocational or adult schools in Belgium, Finland and Italy. The aim of these visits is to eventually sign agreements to implement on-line conversation exchanges among students of different countries, observe lessons and contrast ways of teaching, assessment and syllabus design.As for the impact, this opportunity will mainly allow us to offer new courses using the lessons learnt.We are sure that the benefits gained taking part in this project and the dissemination of the experience will help us achieve our objectives.
