Partners in this project are the Communal Nonprofit Ltd. of Makó (Lead partner) and the Municipality of Kikinda. Summarizing the project goals and activities, we can define the overall aim of the project as to improve a system for monitoring and protection of animal health that will be able to cope with the problems on both sides of the border. More specifically we are willing to enlarge and reconstruct zoohygienic in Makó and Kikinda in order to reduce the risk of cross-border epidemic diseases. According to this, some specific goals were defined: establishment of continuing cross-border cooperation among relevant institutions, raising the technical capacity of competent services in Makó and Kikinda and raising awareness of various stakeholders. Thus defined objectives will be implemented by series of project activities. By organizing project meetings every month and two workshops (one in Makó and one in Kikinda) to exchange experiences and good practices among the partners and the associates, a long-term cooperation among the actors of this field can be ensured. About the promotion: radio and television interviews are going to be produced focusing on the importance of animal protection to reach a wild range of people with our project. We would also like to produce and distribute brochures and leaflets topromote the safe animal keeping and the harmonic coexistance with animals. Successful implementation of this project will contribute to the improvement of public health and environmental quality, which are important dimensions of sustainable development of the entire border region. Achievements: The overall aim of the project was to create a system for monitoring and protecting animal health that would be able to deal with the problems on both sides of the border.
