Anglais - Seconde langue vivante en maternelle à partir de l'apprentissage de chants, comptines et expression corporelle
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Both teachers in a two classes town centre Nursery school, we wish to teach our pupils English as a second language from the day they get to school on, using songs, nursery rhymes and Total Physical Response activities. We wish to settle coherence and cohesion in teaching, making the children work on the same project in order to involve them in and to create cooperation between themselves. Our school has a particularity: we welcome children coming from a home for refugees. Some of them don’t speak any French. Therefore we settle an open –minded program for our pupils to discover differences and accept everyone as he or she is.We choose to teach English from the first year at school in order to make the pupils consider English as a way to communicate, to create links with non French speaking families. We are willing to establish sustainable links between English speaking classes in order to give to English language the status of a real means to communicate. Pupils will use English through songs, Nursery rhymes, They will use video to grow aware that a common language is necessary to communicate with their friends abroad or at school. The organization we chose for our training session (International Study Programme) suggests to attend methodology and speaking training sessions, to visit classes, to discover British culture in order to develop every necessary skill for our project .On attending this particular course we want to improve our English speaking skills and methodology abilities in order to teach a better English in our classes especially using ICT.Discovering the British educational system and meeting school teachers during our course will give us an opportunity to exchange upon our teaching skills and to create links between other European schools. Our school wants to open itself to others, both on national and international levels. Therefore we’ll create links through E-Twinning to diffuse the projects. Those projects will also be diffused on the school blog and exhibitions. We may also participate to pedagogical sessions organized for other teachers willing to settle Erasmus Projects and apply for an Erasmus grant.
