We are four teachers working in the same French public pre school which receives pupils from 2 to 6 years old. We are involved in an Occitan bilingual project and this year we each began an initiation in English in our respective classes. By participating in this training course, we wish to deepen our linguistic and didactic and methodological skills and our cultural knowledge. We hope to forge links with colleagues of the other countries of the European Union to develop our various projects. So, we then could give a European dimension to our work. This training course will allow us to enrich what we called the “crossroads of the languages” that we are setting up in our school. This “crossroads of the languages” is going to propel our school to the rank of experimental school and has a double mission: -to become a resources centre in foreign and regional languages on one side and in cultural knowledge on Europe on the other side, in order to be used by all the teachers of our district. -to develop our training initiatives (two colleagues are training teachers) for the colleagues of the district and for the students in 4th and 5th years of the university and finally for the youth workers employed by the town to conduct extra curricular activities after school hours.
