Aim of the 5th daylong Primary School of Kifisia is to attain its vision through implementation of the present project. Its vision consists of improving educational process by using new approaches and tools for teaching aiming at educating pupils and, at the same time, helping them to build healthy and integrated personalities, that the school becomes a nucleus of creation and creativity, open to society, collaboration in Greece and in Europe. The present proposal is developed in this framework. Specifically, it is expected that by following the specific training courses teachers will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours that will make them able:- To learn how to manage heterogeneity of pupils as far as their origin, socioeconomic situation and learning skills are concerned, which will turn school classes into a dynamic and exciting environment and will encourage their active participation stimulating their interest in learning. - To apply new teaching techniques based on interaction and action learning. - To teach foreign language, in a way adapted to the age of pupils, namely through games. This way the interest of pupils for the foreign culture will be activated and they will achieve learning a foreign language, extremely important for their future life without being tired. - To participate in formulating suggestions of revision of the way the school is managed, based on the experience they will get through their contact with other educational systems and ways of school management. - To use in the best possible way in a creative way existing resources and facilities of the school.- To benefit from opportunities open for transnational co-operation and European projects. Participants are 6 teachers (4 schoolmasters, a schoolmistress for special education and an English teacher) all of them having many years of experience in education and good command of foreign languagesTraining courses they will participate in are the following:1. A teacher following of the 7 days training course "English & culture: Methodology of Culture for Teachers of English”, organized by English matters in Dublin, Ireland, on 26 February – 4 March 2017,2. A teacher following of the 5 days training course "PISA - Finnish and European education systems" organized by Edukarjala on Joensuu, Finland, on 31 July – 4 August 2017, 3. Four teachers following of the 5 days training course "Language, fun and games: Primary school language teaching" organized by ETI in Malta. The expected impact of the project on the school is:- Adopting some of the proposals of participants, on the basis of experience they will get through contact and acquaintance with other educational systems and ways of managing schools, regarding revising way of management of the 5th daylong Primary School of Kifisia - Improvement in the way heterogeneity and diversity are managed at school - Upgrading of pedagogic services the school offers by introducing interactive teaching methods and action learning, that encourage pupils to learn - Use of games and funny ways of learning English and to get acquainted with cultural components - Development of European co-operation in the framework of eΤwinning platform and implementation of projects in partnership with schools from other countries in the framework of Erasmus+ programme.
