The 8th Primary school of Ampelokipi is located in an area of western Thessaloniki with specific social characteristics. In the recent years, the school teachers tried to develop a series of actions which can function as a transformative, enforcing factor in the context of existing social conditions. A very important issue that concerned us and it still concerns us is the possibility of expansion and enrichment of the above actions. Our school needs to respond to a better everyday organisation of teaching and learning which will include provisions of individualized teaching, class organisation into groups with different aims and objectives, organisation of teaching strategies based on the values, the aims and the requirements of the school curriculum. Knowledge of foreign languages is of great importance for mobility increase and job search of young people. We need to help our students develop these skills as well as other abilities such as the understanding of interculturalism. In order to satisfy the above needs, we aimed at training our school teachers through the action KA1 of the Erasmus+ programme in educational programmes which offer immediate solutions but will also contribute to the European dimension of our school in the future. So, we designed our teacher training in the following areas: Management skills, communication skills (ICT, speaking ,comprehension), skills related to the curriculum( conceptual deepening, cultural understanding, critical thinking, e.t.c), organisational and pedagogical approaches(emotional strategies with students, teaching and learning strategies, class management, attention to diversity management and integration, creation of self esteem and confidence, evaluation, etc.), ability to search for resources in order to create teaching and learning material, new educational methods or tools. We submitted a mobility plan to the Greek State Scholarship's Foundation (IKY) which included the mobility of seven teachers lasting 5-7 days to European Union countries in order to attend training programmes. Our plan was approved with code 2015-1-EL01-KA101-013483.We designed selection criteria that helped to provide adequate match between the demands of mobility and capabilities of teachers who would participate. The entities we worked with and the programmes attended by the teachers of our school were: 1) ITC International, (based in the Czech Republic, training in the Czech Republic) a) "ICT In Education Course". b) "Encouraging creative thinking" 2. Euneos, (based in Finland, training in Spain and Finland) a) "Course: Tap-Swipe-Pinch", b)"How to make your school more international" c) "Best Practices Benchmarking" 3. Quarter Mediation, (based in the Netherlands, training in the Netherlands) a) "Creativity in teaching and learning by using ICT" 4. Cervantes, (based in Spain, training in Spain) a) "Let's make our school more international: European Project Planning, Design, Management and Funding under Erasmus + 2014-20" The general skills which the participants improved are: 1) The capacity increase in European level cooperation and the development of relations between teachers and the methods they follow with their students. 2) The cross-cultural awareness. 3) The improvement of the language skills of the staff in a second- international language at speaking and writing levels. 4) The development of skills in information and new technologies. 5) The improvement of capacities for using innovative and learner-centered teaching approaches and assessment methods. 6) The exchange of ideas and educational materials, printed and online, the ability to search, discover, diffuse and manage ideas and materials in electronic banks for teachers. To evaluate the plan we followed a series of steps (preparation- implementation- interpretation) and the results were divided into short term and long term. Our plan consisted of four stages: 1) Design and implementation. 2) Assessment of achievement of objectives. 3) Impact on participants .4) Impact on society. The participation of teachers, men and women of our school in the action KA1 of the Erasmus + programme benefited the teachers individually, the students of our school and the wider local community. We have designed a diffusion plan not only for the actions of teachers within European programmes, but mainly for the results of that training in the school community, the local community and at a national and European level.
