Ανάπτυξη Οριζόντιων Δεξιοτήτων για Εκπαιδευτές Ενηλίκων
Start date: Dec 1, 2016, End date: Feb 28, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

In recent years there is a strong need, within a large proportion of teachers, for training in the development of the so-called “soft skills” such as communication skills, leadership, coaching as well as the management of conflict and stress that the contemporary educator experiences inside or outside the classroom. Moreover, there are important issues of the didactics of adult education such as modern evaluation techniques for which many teachers are either not informed or their knowledge calls for updating. This project aims at the dissemination of modern approaches and innovative methods for a variety of skills, both teaching skills and the so-called "soft skills", aka horizontal skills, in the sense that they are useful qualifications to one's personality regardless of his professional expertise. In particular, it relates to a variety of skills including effective communication, positive resolution of disputes and conflicts, efficiency within groups, leadership etc. At the same time, the project concerns approaches and methods for the efficient work of the adult education instructor, such as modern methods for efficient assessment and all the ways the educator can use the "soft skills" to improve his work and thus the quality of adult education. This will be achieved by carrying out five mobility flows relating to a series of training seminars abroad. These flows, in the two years of the project, will take place in two phases. In the first phase, which extends in the first nine months of the project, there will be two mobility flows in Italy. The participants of this phase will be trained in the development of horizontal skills, and in personality development and specifically in stress management. In the second phase, which covers the next nine months of the program, there will be three mobility flows in Iceland, Poland and Norway with the aim of training in the use of horizontal skills in teaching and education, namely the effective evaluation of students, coaching in the classroom and classroom management, respectively. The last six months of the project include the dissemination and implementation of methods, techniques and approaches, attained in the above training courses, to the target groups of the project, i.e. the teachers of adult education and their students. EEPEK will design and implement a range of multiplier actions that will take place nationwide and will be offered to its members.
