The Agios Dimitrios state Institute of Vocational training aims at the materialization of two mobility flows. The first mobility flow is “The Development and Improvement of professional skills in the technology of mechatronics systems” in which 20 students of “Technicians in Mechatronics” specialty, accompanied by one instructor will be trained in Rumania and more specifically in Bucharest. The second mobility flow is “The Integration of innovative teaching methods in the learning process with the aim to ensure quality in vocational teaching and training” in which 15 instructors of different specialties who belong to the training personnel of our Institute will be trained in Seville, Spain.The main goals of the first mobility flow are: • The development of knowledge, professional skills and abilities on the part of the students through educational seminars and traineeships.• The implementation of New Technologies and the adoption of innovative ideas and practices on mechatronics systems.• The broadening of the students’ professional horizons and their future prospects that will boost their future career.• The development of students’ professionalism as well as the strengthening of their self-esteem and self-confidence.• The development and improvement of the students’ not only social but also communication, teamwork and cooperation skills.• The strengthening of the participants’ European identity.The main aims of the second mobility flow are:• To reinforce the instructors in their teaching task by enriching their knowledge and improving their instruction skills.• To be familiarized with the criteria that will make them competent at the successful selection of innovative instructional and experiential methods.• To combine and interchange the appropriate methods in accordance with the class needs, encouraging, by these means, their students’ active participation.• To obtain positive attitude towards new knowledge by adopting innovative instructional practices.• To take advantage of the educational tools that contemporary Information Technology and Communication promotes in vocational education and both mixed and distance education aiming at ameliorating the teaching quality.• To encourage European and intercultural awareness.“The Development and Improvement of professional skills in the technology of mechatronics systems” mobility flow includes the following activities:• The students’ active participation in educational seminars organized by specialized policy makers and skilled professionals.• Traineeships in lifelike working conditions for the students of “Technicians in Mechatronics” specialty.• Social as well as cultural visits to traditional buildings, museums, monuments and exhibitions in order that participants will be familiarized with the social life in Bucharest.With regard to the activities of the second mobility flow (“The Integration of innovative teaching methods in the learning process with the aim to ensure quality in vocational teaching and training”), the following are included:• Training seminars concerning the Spanish education system and the innovative experiential educational methods that activate students’ interest in participating actively in the learning process.• Visits in both public and private policy makers of vocational education and training.• Both social and cultural visits to traditional buildings, museums, monuments and exhibitions in order that participants will be familiarized with the social life in Seville and be enabled to become aware of the civilization and culture of a European country.The preparation of the participants of both mobility flows consists of three phases. The first one involves the students’ preparation before the trip. The second phase will take place in Rumania and Spain respectively where the students will attend a pre-determined daily programme consisting of educational and cultural activities. The third phase will take place after the trips and entails the appropriate activities so that the participants’ feedback will be properly circulated.The implementation of both mobility flows will have not only short- and long-term educational benefits but also socio-cultural ones to all the participants – in terms of the knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired. All the activities will contribute to the qualitative upgrading of education as well instruction that our Institute provides.
