The globalised competitiveness combined with the unprecedented development of computer technologies and communications systems, has resulted to the changing of the conditions of competitiveness of an economy that is constantly evolving. As a result, the organization, the operation and the viability of enterprises is based mainly on the exploitation of knowledge and innovation. This means that the traditional qualifications and skills of employees should be adjusted to the new data of a demanding labor market. For this reason the need for constant training and the development of behaviors of lifelong learning practices is now profound. As a consequence, the main target is the planning and the implementation of fully formed educational activities that will assist new employees to adjust more quickly and more effectively to the development of the workplace. This will be achieved through the connection of education to the productive process and the labor market. The key aim of the specific project is the support of the participant students to educational and training activities in a continuously and use of knowledge, competence, skills and qualifications that will reinforce their personal development, the employability and their full integration in the Greek and the European labor market. Moreover, the students will have the opportunity to practice the use of foreign languages and to realize the importance of foreign languages in the united European framework. The students will be encouraged to learn foreign languages and to develop methods that will enhance their self – confidence through the interaction of their native language with the foreign language. Their competence in many European Union languages will enable them to take advantage of all the job opportunities that will be offered by the unified market in professional and personal level. They will also have the opportunity to closely experience a different culture and a civilization from their own. This will give them the opportunity to deal phenomena of rocism or xenophobia in every- day life more effectively. This will enhance their self- esteem and the sense of responsibility they need to have in order to operate with team spirit within the European Union framework. The teachers and the students that will participate in the project will have the opportunity to experience new educational practices as well as teaching methods in vocational education and training. The study of the French and German educational systems (especially the vocational education and its relationship to the labor market) will help the teachers incorporate new teaching techniques, improving both their individual teaching methods and the Greek educational system. The participants are students of the 1st EPAL of Amaliada, attending the Car Mechanics and General Mechanic Engineers sectors. There will be 28 students and 4 teachers. Taking into consideration that the school is an inseparable part of the local and the wider community, the announcement of the project to the general public is a very important element in such activities. The diffusion of the conclusions and the results that will come up from the visit, will be announced to the public through the school web site, through an exhibition with photographic material on the school notice board as well as in a meeting that will take place out the Assembly Hall of our school, where teachers of other schools, members of Parents Associations and the local authorities will be invited. The benefits for the school unit, the teachers and the students are multiple and they will reinforce the quality of education. The European Cooperation and the innovative teaching and learning approaches after a different perspective to the school unit and they become a lever for both the improvement of the quality of education and the reinforcement of the European dimension in education.
