The title of the programme is “Developing skills for the smooth transition of students from vocational education to the labor market”. It is part of the skill development framework of teachers from Vocational Education and Training concerning the optimum guidance of their students and the elimination of mismatch between workroom subjects/skills and the needs of the local job market. This mobility will take place in Lisbon, Portugal from 28 February 2015 to 14 March 2015. Sender is 1st Laboratory Centre of Komotini while host is Euroyouth. The basic objectives are: - Acquisition of knowledge as to how the transition of students is organized and how occupation is related to vocational training by a member state which is a leader in the effort of reinforcing the employment possibilities of vocational schools’ graduates. - Enrichment of knowledge by executives on issues of implementing innovative policies for the smooth transition of school to the job market within the framework of European Vocational Education. - Constant enrichment of teachers’ knowledge on i) the European procedures of unifying and harmonizing the transition systems of students from vocational education and training to the job market and ii) rights and obligations resulting from this process so that they can be used to the benefit of students. - Understanding new needs in the European job market and their effective matching to skills offered by Vocational Education and Training. Beneficiaries of this programme are 14 teachers of secondary vocational education in vocational schools from the prefecture of Rodopi who are interested in developing skills so that they can guide their students in their smooth transition from their vocational school to their workplace. They are teachers with a special interest in following new trends and policies in Vocational Education and Training and getting them across to the main beneficiaries, i.e students. They support in practice, that is, the rational of constant learning, a process of constantly reviewing knowledge and the image that is formed concerning this knowledge. Indeed,in view of the restructuring of Vocational Education and Training in our country, their participation in the particular programme becomes a precious professional tool. For the realization of the programme a number of activities will be carried out: visits to vocational schools, to institutions of education, employment and entrepreneurship in Lisbon, organizing seminars and lectures about the programme, constant exchange of opinions among the participants and their colleagues from the host country, creation of a network of constant feedback of information. The expected results and the long term benefits are: 1. Better informed teachers who incorporate European orientation in their everyday work. 2. Binding the team of participants with more coordinated action in their future interventions. 3. Knowledge of the relevant system of connecting employment and education as well as knowledge of the system of accepting students from another country. 4. Taking initiative, developing and applying modern educational pilot practices aimed at changing the views of teachers and students on traditional methods of training and organizing employment. 5. Informing and sensitizing all institutions involved in the educational process (schools, headmasters, teachers’ and parents’ councils) on the need for greater effort and more intense procedures in organizing the transition of students from school to work place. 6. Developing cooperation among all bodies involved in vocational education and training, the workplace and the local community towards pointing out new needs, the development-recognition of special skills and the adjustment of training models to the needs of the modern world and the needs of the local community.
