Améliorons la prise en charge de la diversité de nos élèves en classe!
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our school has set up a European culture (We have European classes, we organize school trips and exchanges with Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland, United Kingdom, and a discovery of the European institutions and industries) which is accentuated with Comenius projects. We have been developing an International vision has been developing for the last two years, in fact we have opened international classes and have created an introduction to the Chinese and Arabic languages. Our pupils are more and more diversified, according to their native language, cultural knowledge and their school skills. That’s the reason why it is necessary for the teachers improve both their language level and differentiation teaching. With this” shadowingproject” job : “Improve our way to take into account the diversity of students in our classes!”, we want to answer this question: “How could we improve our teaching practices in the order to perform at our best to adapt to the diversity of our students and to apply these transformations to our teaching methods and to the school functioning?” This is why we believe that an in situ observation in one of the most advanced country in differentiation teaching is necessary for us to improve our teaching practices. Thus, four teachers (Mathematics, Biology-Geology, History- Geography and English) will go to MyllytullinKoulu, Finland. The means of communication which will be used are English and ICT. All the resources will be written in English and uploaded on Open Educative Resources websites. The participants will thus both improve their language and ICT skills and share them with their colleagues In the same way, our experience in European classes could be shared and enriched with our partners in MyllytullinKoulu, and their project "LEAD: Developing and improving teaching and leadership skills". This two year project will start with a six month collaboration period in order to prepare the job shadowing in Finland. Then a report will be written to assess this job shadowing and to suggest a project of new practices in our classes and in our school. The second year will be the opportunity for us to put in practice this project. Finally we will assess the results and reuse the benefits for the following years. Finally, the opening to Europe is an additional motivation, the European citizenship concept gives a concrete form to this project.
