Amélioration de la pratique orale de l'anglais par le développement de l'outil informatique
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The René-Guy Cadou Nursery and Primary School comprises 8 classes for children aged 3 – 11 years old. Since the 2012-13 academic year, the school has been engaged in a partnership project between schools in the Loire-Atlantique region and schools in Nottingham in the United Kingdom. A link has been established with Middleton Primary and Nursery School in Nottingham. The school is already fully equipped with the latest digital technology and, at this stage of the relationship, the teaching team would like to take full advantage of the learning tools and resources that have already been developed to reinforce the desire to learn a foreign language and to be open to another culture from overseas. The three teachers taking part in this proposed overseas visit with this mobility project are totally committed. By improving their own language skills and their cultural knoweldge and understanding, they hope that this initiative will have a positive impact on their teaching practice. Their particular skills and experiences (with computer technology, languages and nursery-primary transition) put the three candidates in a very good position to engage with the project in England and to diseminate its different aspects. In addition to improving linguistic and cultural knowledge, the training in the Adobe Connect software which the English partners will be provided with, will strengthen the exchange by providing opportunities for communication in real situations. The development of a collaborative project on the eTwinning TwinSpace will complete the TUIC axis of the partnership. On returning from the placement, the participants’ qualitative and quantative improvement in their language skills will allow them to teach English with even more spontaneity and skill in their communication. The development of a collaborative project on the eTwinning TwinSpace will complete the TUIC axis of the partnership. The provision of authentic documents should also be a source of heightened motivation for the pupils. The teachers hope to share their enthusiasm both within our own school and other schools in the community, thus widening the exchange project with overseas partners.
