Objectif général :L'alcoolisation chez les jeunes, et notamment le phénomène d’ivresse express dit « binge drinking » est un problème de santé publique présent dans de nombreux pays européens, particulièrement dans le Nord de l'Europe. Il s’agit d’un sujet de recherche prioritaire pour la Commission Européenne. Le projet ALCOBINGE a pour but de faire progresser l’état des connaissances sur les ivresses express et diminuer les méfaits dus à cette alcoolisation. Le projet s’intéresse plus particulièrement aux effets biologiques du binge drinking, en particulier sur le développement cérébral des jeunes. Les résultats de ce projet seront utilisés à des fins éducatives et d’élaboration de messages de prévention dirigés vers les jeunes des différentes régions de France et d’Angleterre.Principales actions :- Projets de recherche :Etude de l’impact du binge drinking chez les jeunes étudiants français et anglais.Utilisation de modèles animaux pour étudier les déterminants génétiques et les conséquences comportementales du binge drinking.Identification des mécanismes impliqués dans la neurotoxicité de l’alcool chez les jeunes.- Création d’outils de prévention et de sensibilisation pour diffuser aux jeunes des Collèges, Lycées et Universités.- Organisation de conférences sur le binge drinking dans les Collèges, Lycées et Universités.- Mise en place de formation pour le personnel du secteur académique, hospitalier et des PME.----------------Main objective :In recent years, regular alcohol consumption and especially binge drinking has become a mass phenomenon among young people from most European countries, especially Northern Europe.Therefore, this research topic is at the highest priority level of the European Commission. The AlcoBinge project aims to increase general knowledge on binge drinking and to reduce its related harms in young people. This projects looks specifically into the biological effects of binge drinking, more precisely on brain development of young people. Main actions :- Research projects:- Investigation of the impact of binge drinking among young French and English students- Use of animal models to study the genetic determinants and behavioural consequences of binge drinking - Identification of the mechanisms involved in the neurotoxicity of alcohol among young people- Development of prevention and information tools towards young people from schools, high school and universities- Organisation of conferences on binge drinking in schools, high schools and universities.- Training courses for educational teams, hospital staffs and SMEs Achievements: Principales réalisations / résultats :- 1 conférence sur le binge drinking organisée lors de la Réunion de la Société française d’Alcoologie (Paris - 2010).- 1 colloque « Binge drinking : aspects épidémiologiques, cliniques et psychopathologiques » organisé (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire d’Amiens).- 1 présentation des travaux du projet lors du Congrès International de la Société Internationale de Recherche sur le Cerveau et l’Alcoolisme (Paris - 2010) et lors de la 2e édition des Aquitaine Conférences sur les Neurosciences (Arcachon - 2010).- 1 présentation du projet à l’occasion de la fête de la science (Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray - 2010) et lors de la Semaine de la Recherche et de l’Innovation en Picardie (2010).- 1 présentation sur les méfaits de la consommation excessive d’alcool sur le cerveau en développement lors d’une rencontre organisée par l’INSERM.- 1 affiche présentée lors du Congrès International de Neuroendocrinologie (Rouen - 2010).- 2 échanges de personnes organisés entre les Universités du Sussex et de Picardie.- 1 participation à un article du journal « Le Figaro » intitulé « Biture express : le cerveau des adolescents trinque ».- 1 dépliant et 1 questionnaire réalisés à destination des étudiants.----------------Main achievements :- 1 conference on binge drinking held during the French Society of Alcohology (Paris – 2010)- Organization of the conference « Binge drinking : epidemiological, clinical and psychopathological aspects" at Amiens hospital- Presentation of the project’s work during the International Congress of the International Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (Paris - 2010) and during the 2nd edition of the Aquitaine Conferences on Neurosciences (Arcachon – 2010)- Presentation of the project during the Science Festival (Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray – 2010) and during the research and Innovation week in Picardy (2010)- Presentation of the harmful effects on developing brain of an excessive use of alcohol during a meeting organised by the INSERM- Presentation of a poster during the international Congress for Neuroendocrinology (Rouen – 2010)- Academics exchanges between the University of Sussex and of Picardy- Participation to an article from a national newspaper “Le Figaro” entitled “Binge drinking : when the adolescent brain is devastated” - 1 brochure and 1 questionnaire distributed to students
