Albergo Diffuso - Learning about culture, tradition and languages through new forms of sustainable tourism
Start date: Jul 15, 2015, End date: Jul 14, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Albergo Difusso - Learning about new forms of sustainable tourism is a project aiming to strengthen the competences, skills and the knowledge of our staff regarding the new sustainable forms of tourism in Italy and later adopted by only few other countries. We want also our staff to improve their knowledge about Italian alternative tourism in general, one of the best developed alternative and sustainable tourisms in Europe, especially with the culture and tradition related to this tourism and also to learn new terminology related to this specific tourism (in English and Italian language). By relating this experience with the tourism sector we create strong connection between the education and relevant organisations, implement this knowledge in order to produce staff and students with knowledge and skills that meet labour market needs and society at large. Participants will be staff in charge of providing adult education on topics related to tourism, culture and linguistics. They need to have previous knowledge of the existing alternative forms of tourism, but also will and motivation to learn about the new forms existing as the Albergo Diffuso concept. Sellection will regard the degree of relevance and usefulness to the future engagements of the participants. All participants will have to have a good knowledge of English, at conversational level, but we will also try to include participants that know both languages, English and Italian. Main activity of the project is a mobility in Italy, main subject is tourism, culure and tradition, i.e. Albergo Diffuso course. The course will be given by AMFI that will be responsible for the course materials, organization, accommodation and meals for participants, logistic and transport during the mobility in Italy. The programme includes visit to places of significance for culture, history, tradition and tourism, such as Castello Piccolomini in Celano city center, Sextantio and Rovere with their surroundings, Cantina Cooperativa del Fucino. Participants will learn about Italian tradition and culture, alternative forms of tourism as Albergo Diffuso, overall tourism situation, Italian tourism policies. Balkania influence includes a wider regional level including all Balkan countries and some European associates. This is especially relevant for the dissemination and further impacts on all levels.Local and regional impact includes dissemination and sharing newly gained knowledge and experience on innovative rural and sustainable forms of tourism, such as Albergo Diffuso, familiarity with other cultures, traditions and languages for further educational and business purposes. We gladly point out some of the long term benefits such as the initiation of collaboration with relevant stakeholders which may lead to adapt and introduce innovative policies in Macedonia. This may influence in increasing the quality and the offer of alternative tourism, effectiveness and productivity in the low season periods, tourist attraction, increased employment of people from different ages, contribution to the overall economic development and growth, prevent local people from regional and international migration, and further more. This mobility inevitably creates a national and international network, strengthened by the future cooperation opportunities and easy to get broader by sharing the products of this mobility, such as the mini dictionaries in professional terminology and other dissemination materials and classes.
