At the moment our school is implementing the European cohesion fund project “Establishment of Fisheries Practical Training Centre in Silute Agricultural School' VP3-2.2-MES-13-V-03-031-9.9 million litas of its value . The building is equipped, prepared training classes and the facilities for practical training, organized environment, purchased the ship for inland waterways and recreational fisheries training and boatmaster's car for the transport of live fish. Primary fish processing equipment will be installed soon and public purchase announced. This modern and practical training fisheries Centre, the only in the Baltic States, is going to be opened incoming September and will invite to learn all young people from our Republic. Here they will be taught by a modular programme of fishery business employee. At the same time school runs the European Social Fund project „Preparation of teaching tools for Fishery Training Centre and testing the modular training programmes.“ (VP1-2.2-MES-04-V-03-022) – its value 1.9 million litas. We are focusing on newly founded Centre for Practical Training in Fisheries and have great expectations not to dissapoint Lithuanian education, vocational training, and the European Union. In September 2013,we have launched to teach the first employee in the fisheries business specialty of 30 students ' group. This speciality has got a very high interest at school . Therefore, taking into account the development of the vocational education and training action plan for 2014-16, it is based on the communication from the Commission of the European communities on the future of sustainable aquaculture development and strategy, school seeks to make a higher quality of aquaculture training, vocational and higher education cooperation, the impact on the economy of the country, in cooperation with the Baltic States. At the time of the project we are planning two traineeships for staff in the EU countries-France and Malta, which have already gained considerable experience in the field of aquaculture. Staff will visit institutions of vocational training, with the analogue programme businesses, where the fish are grown in closed circulation systems, ponds and paddocks, will learn fish breeding and rearing, primary processing, marketing processes, will visit the recreational fishery, recreational facilities, will carry out practical steps. The project will aim to acquire as many competences, which will be applied to the practical teaching in the centre of modern fishery, as well as in collaboration with Alexander Stulginskis University, business enterprises of our Republic, also interested persons and organizations from Latvia and Estonia. It is planned that during the Project 10 employees will gain new competences who will carry out theoretical and practical training. The activities of the project will be managed by working group of sending organisation and responsible persons in host organisations. The results of the project will be newly established in the Centre activities and particularly helpful in this, that will be used not only in Lithuania, but also in economic development of Latvia and Estonia in the field of aquaculture, improving the quality of vocational education and training . The results of the project will allow the institution to lead innovations of training in relation to business.
