AGRICOM - Transfer of the Water Competences Model to AGRIcultural COMpetences

To make lifelong learning and mobility reality is one of the main objectives of the strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training ("ET 2020"). The ongoing development and management of knowledge, skills and competences at the individual and organisational level is therefore set a clear priority and challenge for the EU and its Member States, for vocational education and training, for companies, employees and learners. The presentation, the sharing and reuse of skills and competence information is an important and necessary step towards outcome-based education and training, which ensures higher transparency, mobility and employability of European lifelong learners. To achieve the ambitious target for the mobility of European education, training and the labour market, skills and learning outcome descriptions for individual jobs, training and employment opportunities have to be described. AGRICOM will enhance the Vocational education and training situation by defining the skills and competences required for the different areas of work, workplaces and workers within the agricultural sector for the first time. The Transfer of the Water Competences Model to AGRIcultural COMpetences (AGRICOM) Project has drawn on the WACOM competence model from the water sector and has transfered it to the areas of agriculture closely related to water, i. e. hydroponics and irrigation of the user countries Germany, Netherlands, Italy and Greece.
