Аграрен екотуризъм - създаване на заетост в селските региони
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Agricultural ecotourism is a philosophy, activity, policy for the development of a particular region and a policy in the environmental field. All conditions for the development of ecotourism are present In Bulgaria – natural beauty, diverse flora and fauna, rich history and culture. This is complemented by a rich panoply of traditions, cuisine, customs and natural landmarks. Recently, agricultural ecotourism is not only a trend but it is also an important element of the agricultural policy of the European Union which receives large subsidiaries in order to expand in Bulgaria. New opportunities are being created to improve the agricultural structures so that the farmers would remain in the rural areas, the immigration to the cities would be limited and a policy would be created to increase the income of the farmers in these regions. It is therefore necessary to know the local resources in order to create guaranteed sustainable development of new agricultural forms of ecotourism and in this way to diversify the local economy of the rural municipalities. Agricultural ecotourism is one of the fast growing sectors in which staying in organic farms and trying the lifestyle of the people who look after their own cattle and farm is not new. Tourists have stayed in Italian wineries and ranches in the Rocky Mountains for centuries. The idea for relaxation in beautiful natural surroundings or trying the adventurous way of living of the Old West is still a part of the attractions of this type of tourism. Ecotourism gives an idea of the natural, cultural and ethnographic characteristics of the specific area and the undistorted wholeness of the ecosystem, and the creation of economic conditions to protect the environment and the natural resources. It is an attractive and interesting way for the students of the Agricultural High School to understand the farming process more deeply through personal and educational experience, in ordinary rural surroundings. The users of this project are 20 students studying the following specialities: Agroecologist, Technician – horticulturist, Agricultural Mechanization, and Agricultural Economics. Training and manufacturing practices are conducted for all in accordance with the curriculum. The mobility shall be fulfilled through work and apprenticeship in agricultural holdings and private farms in Italy which have proven their European level in the field of agricultural ecotourism. The duration of the practice is 3 weeks in April, 2017, which is enough to achieve the specific goals:1. To upgrade the students’ knowledge in plant-growing and stock-breeding acquired in the Agricultural High School with European experience and their application in the field of agricultural ecotourism in Bulgaria.2. Expansion of the practical skills in the field of agricultural ecotourism – marketing and management – tourist services, plant-growing and stock-breeding, environmental protection and catering. 3. To increase the quality of the professional education through borrowing from the European experience and to practice in real working environment in European holdings, farms and family houses. The students who pass the training shall be able to successfully have a career both in our own labour market and in the European one. 4. Motivating the students to integrate their acquired skills and competences in their own touristic activity related to our rural area, by the creation of organic farms, ecohotels, organic restaurants, organic shops and others.5. To acquire new language skills of communication and to master the professional terminology.6. To accomplish cultural exchange and expand their view of life.7. To adapt to the European working conditions and to improve their personal qualities like accuracy, punctuality, responsibility, tolerance, and respect to the other nations and cultures through their participation. 8. To improve their skills of team work. To achieve ‘synergy’ from the acquired knowledge of each participant from the Agricultural High School with the innovative practices in Italy. The opportunity to apply this in the Bulgarian agricultural ecotourism shall lead to a ‘multiplying effect’.The activities from the schedule will be realized through monitoring, direct work, and apprenticeship in Italy. The beneficiaries will acquire competences and experience in the sphere of agricultural ecotourism. Their participation will be connected with marketing and management – tourist services, field work, environmental protection, and catering. They will improve their language competences through direct communication, introduction to the Italian history, culture, lifestyle and traditions. The expected results are connected with the strategy to develop the Agricultural High School by 2020. Through the exchange of experience between the participants in the project and the European specialists in the sphere of ecotourism, the young people will acquire new professional competences, i
