The “African sun in Europe” is an initiative of young people fascinated by African art and culture, and people of African origin living in EU. As a migrant organization we are aware of many misunderstandings concerning the presentation of Africa and each of its countries, culture and society, also when it comes to migration as well. There is little media coverage showing Africa in the right way - a valuable and genuine. It is Africans themselves to show that we do not differ much and we can learn from each other, explaining the main stereotypes and misunderstandings that lead to discrimination and racism. Objectives of the project is primarily integration of immigrants and giving them chance to present their culture and habits and break stereotypes to build intercultural dialogue. The project will be series of art/culture interactive workshops, we will invite young Polish people and we will get to know the African culture.
