Start date: Dec 16, 2014, End date: Dec 15, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Mobility of educational staff is the most effective source of acquiring cross-sectional competences, promotes lifelong learning and has got the key role as an instrument of raising the quality of education and professional development. It is also a tool for introducing innovations into the educational system. Among the key skills recommended by the European Parliament there are social and civil competences which are in the centre of interest in our school and may help in the sustainable development. As teachers we are obliged to shape our students into creative, open to the world teenagers who are tolerant and sensitive to other people's needs and are able to change their life and environment in a conscious way. They must be active on the labour market, too. We are aware of the fact that educating is a lifelong process, so one of the essential aims of our school is improving the learning skills. It refers both to us - the teachers and the students because the development of key competences is the priority for all age groups. Therefore, the topics included in the project are connected with teaching and learning foreign languages, new innovative curriculums, methodology, pedagogy and didactics. Twenty five teachers from our school will participate in Erasmus Plus Programme. The English, German, French and Spanish teachers will improve fluency, effective communication and update the knowledge of activating teaching methods during training courses. The Polish, History, Social Studies, Culture and Art, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Physical Education and Religious Education teachers will prepare for planning lessons and activities, based on content and language integrated learning, in a class our school is going to open in 2016/2017. However, some teachers must refresh and reinforce their knowledge of the English language during intensive language courses in order to communicate with other foreign teachers, exchange experience, read literature in English with ease and confidence, use web portals in English and interactive programmes to support the teaching and learning process. The teachers, who declared their intention to take part in the project, are highly motivated, willing to learn and implement the innovative approach to teaching and learning, have got team managing abilities and are open to new cultures and nationalities. They develop a sense of European integration in their students, have got the need of enriching classroom activities with cultural component of the partner countries to broaden students' knowledge - those were the basic criteria for choosing the teachers who participate in the project. Managing the project will be based on the arrangement of priorities, cooperation, the transfer of information, acquiring useful experience, kindness and helpfulness in actions and the responsibility for the tasks taken together. The teachers have already implemented or are in the process of the implementation of various projects and they are aware of each phase of the project work and the relations between them. Due to this fact, we intend to define clearly the roles of the participants, determine the procedures and the principles of proceeding to the next phase, describe the final products and prepare the relevant documentation. Raising the awareness of living in a modern society in students' minds is a challenge our school has to face. It must be taken into consideration that the level of the development of our civilization depends not only on the level of technological advancement but culture as well. We hope that international exchanges will give us the opportunities to acquire new skills and competences concerning the teaching and learning process, the strategies and tools for motivating students and innovative teaching methods. Our school organizes international exchanges for students, e-Twinning projects and is planning to open a bilingual class. Therefore, the participation in the courses offered by Erasmus Plus Programme is extremely useful for the development of our school and will lead to raising the standards and the quality of teaching. We will be able to enhance the European dimension of school education owing to introducing innovative teaching methods and material, promoting foreign language learning, supporting international cooperation or implementing Union projects. The experience gained during training courses will enable us to increase job satisfaction and confront teaching and educational challenges. Getting to know new parts of Europe and breaking the language barriers while communicating with native speakers will certainly help us raise the quality of education in our school, increase the attractiveness of its educational offer and improve intercultural competence of the participants.
