Adventure in a Media World

Our project is a youth exchange that will gather 5 groups from 5 to 7 participants, including participants with disabilities and young asylum seekers, coming from Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Spain and Ukraine. This diverse group will develop their knowledge, opinion and awareness about the role and influence of medias in our nowadays societies. How much social medias are present in our lives and how much do they impact them? How do they influence our way to socialize, but also to see the world? Why and how are the medias so important for democracy, when they can also be channel for hate speech and messages of xenophobia? At the opposite, how can they be used to promote solidarity, peace and mutual understanding? These questions will be tackled by the young people during their youth exchange. Via different interactive and participatory workshops, field visit and artistic workshops. During the exchange, the young people will learn how to and will produce their own digital video movie, by using a variety of sources: mobile, camera go-pro, camera… This artistic process, accompanied by a professional artistic leader, will result on a movie to be presented and disseminated at a final press conference. These production and public presentations must support the visibility and dissemination of the project results. In that way, they must encourage the dissemination of a positive image of young people, from diverses origina, a responsible and active citizens.
